Guna District, 11 August 2023 - Madhya Pradesh, Date — Abdul Munaf, the Founder & Director of Gully Classes Foundation, is making remarkable strides in education and community development. He is currently engaged in a year-long grassroots Digital Swaraj fellowship facilitated by the Digital Empowerment Foundation. For 25 days, Abdul Munaf has worked diligently with his fellow fellowship member, Vikas Chinchkar, in the Guna District of Madhya Pradesh. Community Development Initiatives Their efforts have taken them to 2 to 3 villages daily, where they have actively engaged with local communities to bring about positive change. Abdul Munaf's legacy of impactful initiatives that better society has once again come to the forefront. Known for leaving an indelible mark through his proactive actions, he has taken another stride towards positive change. During their visits to various villages, Abdul Munaf observed a concerning issue in some Government schools — the lack of basic amenities like fans and lights. Despite the passage of time, these schools had not yet been equipped with these essential facilities since their establishment. Responding to this pressing need, Gully Classes Foundation took a proactive approach and garnered support from the Hope 4 All Foundation. Their collaborative efforts have successfully installed fans and tube lights in three schools. This step marks a significant milestone as the schools have received electricity for the first time in nearly 25 to 30 years. The impact of this initiative is profound, touching the lives of more than 400 students currently enrolled in these three schools located in Chakdevpur and Bambori Village within the Guna District. The newfound access to electricity creates a more conducive learning environment, positively influencing students and school staff. Abdul Munaf expressed his gratitude and shared his thoughts on the fellowship, saying, "Our journey with the Digital Swaraj fellowship has allowed us to witness firsthand the challenges underserved communities face. By addressing these fundamental needs, we aim to unlock greater opportunities for the children and educators who deserve access to basic resources." This initiative represents a pivotal step towards bridging the gap in educational infrastructure and fostering a spirit of progress in rural areas. Abdul Munaf and Vikas Chinchkar's dedication to community empowerment exemplifies the core values of the Digital Empowerment Foundation's fellowship program. Abdul Munaf's commitment to the cause extends beyond infrastructure. During his field visits, he encountered five young girls who could not attend school due to financial constraints at home. Recognising the potential within these girls, Gully Classes Foundation has taken on the responsibility of ensuring their education continues unhindered.
